Patrick Blanc is a French botanist. The most impressive is that his vertical gardens of low light foliage plants thrive without soil. This vertical systems can be implemented anywhere: indoors or out and in any climatic environment.

The three-part system consists of a PVC layer, felt, and metal frame, providing a soil-free self-supporting system. There is where plant grows. Plant selection is mainly set according to the prevailing climatic conditions.

Four required elements: Water and many minerals dissolved in it are are essential, light and carbon dioxide to conduct photosynthesis. Light can be artificial light, not necessarily sunlight. So columns underpass are definitely possible.

Moreover, this vertical gardens do not damage structures because water is regularly given to plants. Plants roots are then only spreading on the surface, leaving the inner wall unaffected.
